March’s upcoming meeting

“In God We Trust”

What: Susquehanna Valley Conservatives monthly meeting

When: Monday March 14, 7:00 PM

Where: The Baylor Conference Room of the Best Western Country Cupboard Inn, just north of Lewisburg along Route 15.

State legislator Dr. Rick Saccone will be the featured speaker at the Monday March 14 meeting of Susquehanna Valley Conservatives. Representative Saccone will discuss legislation he is promoting that will codify displaying the phrase ‘In God We Trust’ in or on public buildings in Pennsylvania.

This is a topic that has strong local ties – Governor James Pollock, a Milton resident, was appointed Director of the U S Mint by President Abraham Lincoln, and it is due to his efforts that ‘In God We Trust’ appears on United States currency.

Representative Saccone serves the people of Washington and Allegheny counties. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh and was a full-time professor at Saint Vincent College where he taught Political Science, Government, International Business and other international courses.

Rick has traveled to 72 countries; contributed numerous articles on international politics, business and culture to top national and international newspapers such as USA Today, the Baltimore Sun and the Korea Times. He has authored seven books on North and South Korea and one on Iraq.  His ninth book was released in 2013 and chronicles the faith convictions of our nation’s founders and how they understood the relationship of God and government.
