Upcoming September 14 SVC Meeting

Can your family afford an additional $1,400 in taxes? Is increased education spending the solution to improve our kids’ futures? Will a severance tax help our economy or hurt it? These are the questions being debated in Harrisburg and across the state as Gov. Wolf and the Republican-controlled House and Senate remain at odds over the state budget. Matt Brouillette, president and CEO of the Commonwealth Foundation will explain the implications of Gov. Wolf’s agenda on our families and state and what’s at stake in the budget standoff.

Susquehanna Valley Conservatives is proud to host Matt Brioulette, President of the Commonwealth Foundation, as our speaker Monday September 14 at 7:00 PM at the Best Western Country Cupboard. Matt will bring us news of the current budget impasse in Harrisburg as well as other issues facing state government.

As we resume our monthly programming schedule (September through May) we are introducing a new element to our meetings. Each month we plan to invite a local state legislator to join us to discuss issues ‘on their plate’ in Harrisburg and take YOUR QUESTIONS about those and other state government topics. Representative Kerry Benninghoff of Bellefonte – Majority Policy Chariman – will be featured at the September meeting. Representative Benninghoff’s comments will follow our main speaker.

Come prepared with your questions for both Mr. Brioulette and Representative Benninghoff.

We hope to see you on September 14th.
