SVC Meeting Monday, February 9

Join Susquehanna Valley Conservatives as we present ‘Freedom in the Balance’ – a discussion on the assault on our Christian values and freedoms. Speakers will be Michael Geer, President of the Pennsylvania Family Institute and Randall Wenger Esq. Chief Counsel for the Independence Law Center.

Wenger and Geer will focus on threats to our religious freedom. Two businesses in our area have been targeted for refusing, because of their religious convictions, to provide services for same-sex weddings.

Topics will include:

  • We (Wenger & Geer) believe we’re at a precarious place in American history where our liberties are in jeopardy. We’re being systematically taught that our values are immoral-and the new morality is being enforced by the force of law.
  • Business owners are being fined for adhering to their convictions about marriage, and ministries are being forced to close.
  • This all is being done in the name of tolerance. The irony is that the civility that we long for is undermined rather than aided with these new laws. In a free society there should be space for all of us to live according to our convictions.
  • This presentation is aimed at understanding the specific threats to our liberty, what we can do to protect our businesses and ministries, and ultimately how to help change the tide.

When: Monday February 9 at 7:00 PM
