March’s Meeting Summary – Paycheck Protection

The summary of the SVC meeting held this past Monday, March 10 follows:

John Bouder - Paycheck Protection

John Bouder of The Commonwealth Foundation presented a discussion on the topic of paycheck protection and a background on the current practice of unions having dues withheld via the state (and via taxpayer money) and then given directly to unions. John is a policy analyst for The Commonwealth Foundation, and discussed how this practice unfairly gives unions advantages that other organizations lack. Currently, there is pending legislation (HB 1507) in Harrisburg, backed by our local Representatives, to end what was called the “Government-Union Power Cycle”.

65 people were in attendance.
